Brow Pre/After Care 

Before procedure: 

  • Do not take Aspirin/Ibuprofen and Vitamin E 48 hrs prior to your procedure. 

  • Avoid alcohol or caffeine 24 hours prior to the procedure, this will minimize swelling after the procedure.

  • You cannot use Retin-A or Retinols for 7 days prior to your appointment and avoid using on or around the area for 30 days after. It can cause the pigments to fade. 

  • You must be off Accutane for 1 year. 

  • Getting a procedure while on your menstrual cycle can make you extra sensitive. 

  • If you get fillers/botox , they should be done 4 weeks prior or 4 weeks after the procedure.

  • If you get your brows waxed/threaded, please do it at least 4 day prior to procedure. (It is recommend to get them cleaned up by someone you trust or see regularly. If not your artist can clean up using a razor the day of procedure. (This goes for your first session, touch ups, and annual touch ups).

  • Feel free to come in with your brows drawn in to help your artist visualize your desired shape. 

Not candidates for procedure:​

  • Under the age of 18

  • Has heart conditions/pace maker

  • Diabetic

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Eczema/Rosacea/Sun burn

  • On Accutane

  • Take blood thinners

  • Undergoing chemotherapy

  • Has previous solid tattoo

 

After procedure:

  • Tenderness and itching are both common after the procedure. 

  • Minimal swelling is normal. Everyone reacts differently.

  • Color will fade/soften up to 50%. The touch up will enhance any area that has faded too much. Everyone will heal differently.

  • If you have oily skin, use anti-aging creams, chemical peels, in the sun often or exercise frequently, you will probably need a touch up every year.

  • Do not exercise the day of the procedure as the (body heat expands the pores).

  • It is recommended not to sweat for the first 10 days after the procedure. Sweat can slowly fade the treated area.

  • Avoid shower water on the treated area after the procedure.

  • Avoid the sun, salt water, and chlorine until fully healed. 

  • No make-up, lotions, cleansers, toners, or moisturizers should be used on the brows until fully healed. (NOTHING but the aftercare solutions given by your artist should be used on your brows).

 

Note:

  • It is important to realize that you will need a color boost every 1-2 years to maintain it’s fresh natural appearance.

  • If you have oily skin, your results may look softer in appearance and may require additional procedures.

  • No swimming until the area is completely healed, salt water/chlorine can cause the pigments to fade or change in color. 

  • Do not scrub, rub, or peel. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate off. Picking can cause scarring.

  • Do not sleep on your brows, it is recommended to sleep on your back until they are healed.

  • When washing your face, wash around your brows until fully they are healed.

  • Avoid hot showers(steam), use only warm-cool water.

After Care Instructions:​

  • - Use cleaning wipes given by your artist every hour, for the first 48 hrs. after your procedure . (To clean lymph fluid).

  • - Clean/dab brows gently days 3-10 both morning & night with antibacterial soap/warm water using a Q-tip. Refrain from using heavy swiping motions – ONLY dabbing and/or patting. 

  • - Air dry or pat dry with clean napkin/paper towel (No washcloth/scrubbers) then apply a very thin layer of gel/ointment given by your artist days 3-10 both morning & night using a Q-tip.  

  • -  Keep eyebrows dry for 10 days (avoid water; ex. swimming or sauna).

  • - The ONLY time you can get your brows wet is when you're cleaning them morning & night.

  • -  No tanning, waxing or threading (Until 4 weeks after procedure).

  • -  No makeup, eyebrow pencil, or facial products on the brows for 10 days.

  • - After your brows are fully scabbed off, you may wash your brows with water and clean hands.

The healing process/What to expect:

  • -  Immediately after – shape may appear uneven due to swelling

  • -  Day 1 – 3: Eyebrows will appear darker and thicker

  • -  Day 4 – 7: Eyebrows will be dry and itchy. Do not scratch, rub or pick at it. They will start to scab/crack or flake off. Eyebrows will look patchy and uneven during healing process. It is absolutely normal. Please DON’T PANIC.

  • -  Day 7 – 10: Scabs should be all gone (some can take up to 14 days)

  • -  Sometimes eyebrows will appear as if there is no color. The remaining color has absorbed under the

    layer of skin and in the following week it will resurface as skin cells repair.

  • -  Week 3 – 4: Eyebrows will appear its true color. Eyebrows might still look patchy or uneven shape. Some

    rare cases pigment doesn’t retain well.

  • - Week 6-12: Touch up session to darken and fill in any areas that lack pigment and to perfect brows shape and color.
